As we continue to explore the vendor space covering the Industrial Internet of Things for our upcoming Solutions Selection Guide, we had an opportunity to get an in depth understanding of the company’s capabilities and explore a few customer use cases at this year’s Splunk .conf, September 26-29^th in Orlando, Florida. It is clear that Splunk is growing and its user base is passionate about the solution offering. This year’s attendance was 5,000, with many being first time attendees. Splunk’s value proposition is solidifying within the IT organization, but our interest was in exploring how Splunk is being used from an Operational Technology perspective; applying the solutions in unique ways to solve some old issues in asset intensive businesses.
