Industrial Internet of Things

But today, the advancement of IP technologies is extending outward through the convergence of Information and Operation Technology (IT/OT) to connect people, processes, and things to create the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Dubbed “The Fourth Industrial Revolution,” the IIoT is enabling the development of new cyber-physical systems and revolutionizing the way industrial organizations operate by trending toward autonomous production of physical goods and maintenance of physical assets. With some estimates predicting upwards of 50 billion connected “things” by 2020, the IIoT is one of the most transformative and important trends facing the manufacturing industries today.
